THE DESIGNER

Peggy Hartanto is the Indonesian designer behind her eponymous high-end ready-to-wear label, which she founded in 2012.

Born and raised in Surabaya, she studied at Raffles College of Design and Commerce in Sydney. During her time in Australia, she won numerous fashion awards and competitions, and graduated in 2009 with an honor as the best student in fashion design. She subsequently joined one of Australia’s leading fashion brands, Collette Dinnigan, before moving back to her hometown to start her own label.

Her widely acclaimed ready-to-wear brand has garnered Peggy a number of international and local accolades, such as Harper’s Bazaar Asia New Generation Fashion Award in 2013 and Australia-Indonesia Centre Young Designer Prize in 2014. She was named in the ‘30 Under 30: The Arts’ list by Forbes Asia in February 2016.

Peggy is currently based in Surabaya, where she acts as the creative director of her brand.
 


THE BRAND

The ready-to-wear brand Peggy Hartanto embodies a definitive design aesthetic that is characterized by clean lines, bold colors as well as innovative use of fabric and construction. Its high-end offerings comprise of distinctive feminine pieces with a sensibility that speaks to the modern woman.

The first Peggy Hartanto collection was presented at the Jakarta Fashion Week in 2012. Since then, the brand has showcased its seasonal collections at various events and participated in trade shows worldwide.

The label is now available at numerous boutiques and online retailers in Asia, Middle East and the United Kingdom.
